McLaughlin to head World Golf Foundation, First Tee, World Golf Hall of Fame

PGA Tour Champions president Greg McLaughlin is leaving his post to become the World Golf Foundation chief executive and president of The First Tee.McLaughlin, who has headed the senior circuit since January 2015, overseeing the 20-year partnership with Charles Schwab and the implementation of the playoff system, will now serve as a leader among the top golf organizations.As a member of the greater golf community for more than 30 years, I have always been proud of what the collective efforts of our sport have done and continue to do to inspire communities and change lives, especially for young people who can learn and grow through the values of golf, McLaughlin said in a statement. This is an exciting time in the evolution of the World Golf Foundation, and specifically The First Tee, and I am humbled by and excited for the opportunity to lead our industrys efforts to increase participation and global awareness of golf as a sport that is welcoming to all.Prior to joining the Tour, McLaughlin served as the CEO of the Tiger Woods Foundation for 14 years. In his new role, he will strategically direct the World Golf Foundation, The First Tee and World Golf Hall of Fame.Current World Golf Foundation CEO Steve Mona will assist McLaughlin with the transition before retiring sometime in 2019. Jack Peter, president of the World Golf Hall of Fame, also will retire at the end of the year.Miller Brady, a 19-year PGA Tour veteran, will take over as president of the PGA Tour Champions. He recently served under McLaughlin as the senior vice president and chief of operations.
